How exciting is the lead up before a festival? If you're like us you've been counting down the days before you can dress in some cool outfits, go a little bit cray with some dancing all while listening to some cool beats. But sometimes in amongst all the excitement, we tend to forget those important little festival life hacks. Stress less because us gals here at TM HQ are avid festival goers, and have come up with some tips and tricks so you can have the best time ever!
Pretty much every festival gets super dusty with so many feet dancing around kicking up some serious dirt. So we like to plan our outfits accordingly rocking neutral tones like browns, khakis, tans and olive. You won't need to stress about any dirt or dust marks ruining your outfit. Which is ideal for those longer 3-day festivals when you've already accidentally dirtied all your other cool festival 'fits.
Let's be honest, the majority of festivals are in the warmer months and you don't get much shade with the sun blaring down on you for hours. Add some drinks into the mix and you've got a recipe for overheating! So we love that you can get away with wearing a little bit less to stay on the cooler side, a cute little mesh number is ideal paired over the top of a cute bikini top or bralette. But whatever you do, slap on that sunscreen, grab some sunnies and stay hydrated!
Repeat after me... mesh is the best! We know it's been mentioned above but if you're looking to rock some full-length pants at the next festival find some that are super breathable. We love lighter fabrics with mesh cutouts for when you're getting sweaty in the mosh but need to stay cool. Pair them with a super cute matching crop or bralette.
Obviously, everyone wants to wear a super cute festival 'fit, but sometimes it gets so hard to find your friends in such huge crowds of people. So why not choose an outfit that is hella bright and fluro so you'll never get lost in the crowd! Not only is fluro super hot right now, but it's so practical when you need to find your friends fast. We recommend having an easy to find meeting point or landmark for you and your friends too, just in case someone's phone dies or you've lost someone!
Festivals are super long days and you're on your feet pretty the whole day, so yes this one seems like an obvious one but trust me, most of us in the office have made this mistake.. wear comfortable shoes! If you're going to buy some newbies for the festival wear them in long before the festival. Our office faves are Docs and Vans but as long as you've found a pair that you can dance/walk all day in whilst possibly getting stood on, then you're onto a good thing!
It's all about the accessories, don't forget to think practically with them though. Hoop earrings in a mosh pit = bad idea, bumbag/small backpack = good idea. The bumbag has made a comeback and we couldn't love this trend more! Stash your phone, some sunnies, tissues (just in case you get stuck in your port-o-loo), band-aids, a spare hair tie, maybe a snack or some water even. You won't have to worry about anyone stealing or pickpocketing your stuff either.
